Impressionist Photography
Reflection:
Then pick your favorite image from the series and write a reflection on your technical process. Reference your packet and notes to write down what techniques you used on your photo to achieve the aesthetic and final look of your image.
Then write about why you picked this photo as your favorite. What about it makes it the most successful? What elements of design (composition, contrast, range of values, leading lines, etc...) are working well in your image? What about the manipulations and their relationship to the original photo makes it a particularly good final image?
The theme of my series is the color red. Each of the pictures contain the color red, either throughout the picture or as a splash of color. One of my photographs did not originally contain any red in it, so I had to add some red roses so that it kept with the theme of the series. The red conveys a theme because it gives a common characteristic to all of the pictures in the series. However different they are from one another, the red color brings them together as a set of pictures.
My favorite picture of my series is the photograph of the books leaning on the high heeled shoe. My technical process included picking the background photograph, and then picking out the photo to overlay on top. I used a photograph from the prime lens photoshoot in the beginning of term 2. I placed the photo of the hearts on top of the one of the high heeled shoe, then set it to overlay. I moved the picture of the hearts around so that the hearts were placed where I liked them, and saved the image as a JPEG and small enough to post to weebly.
