Disguise:
Reflection:
Who is your subject matter? In what way did you disguise them? (wigs? costume? hiding face?)How close or far away are you from your subject? What is the setting of your photo? How does the setting create mystery?
1. In the first picture I am disguising myself with a skull mask. I am impersonating a skeleton woman. My normal appearance has been changed. I am using a mask and black vail to cover my face, head and hair. The picture is close but still a portrait style. The background/environment is important because I needed a black background to not distract from the subject. I used a black background and studio lights to create my image. I used props such as the mask and vail. The black vail that helped concealed my identity created the air of mystery present in the photo.
How did alter the photo in photoshop by blurring, layering or modifying in other ways? How did your edits change or increase the meaning or concept of your photo?
What message are you sending when you conceal your subjectʼs identity?
2. To modify the image I used photoshop. In photoshop I selected the flowers surrounding my face and used the twist feature to swirl the flowers together. This editing altered the meaning of the photo by centering the image around my face. The swirls created leading lines that lead to my face as the center of the work.
How did you alter your printed portrait?Did you cut it up? Paint over it?Glue/Layer text or other images on the top?How did these changes create/enhance the meaning of your photo?
3. To alter my printed portrait I used paint. I painted black, white, and grey swirls on the picture. This change enhanced the style and flare of my photo. I like the effect that the paint added to the picture.
